- Deciding on the style of the funeral service, whether it be traditional, a celebration of life or aspects of your religion or cultural.
- A perfect farewell can include personal touches such as, a special song, video tribute or a service organised in a garden or park. Alternatively, you can tell us how we can arrange the funeral service to meet your needs.
- Choosing a venue, date and time for the funeral service, and Death Certificates.
- Your Funeral Director will complete the application on your behalf.
There are many different types of funeral services:
The cost is always substantially more expensive than a Cremation service, as a Burial plot must be purchased.
A Burial or Graveside service generally takes place at a cemetery. Cemeteries are usually run by the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board or a Local Shire.
There may also be a viewing of the body prior to the funeral service where your loved one is dressed and presented for family and friends to privately pay their respects and say their final goodbyes. Viewings are normal in many cultures and can be very helpful in coping with grief.
Certain religious dominations may also require a Rosary service which is generally conducted in a Church on the evening prior to the funeral service.
A hearse and other funeral cars can be provided for family members to travel to and from the service in.
We are more than happy to arrange a Headstone, Memorial or a Bronze plaque for our clients as we have over 15 years’ experience in this area.
Hearse, Flowers, Funeral Notices, Booklets, Attendance card, Music, Celebrants, Priests, Ministers, Limousine transport can all be arranged at the family’s request.
Any special touches or considerations the family has no matter how small it may seem will always be incorporated into the funeral service where possible.
A Cremation service is always substantially cheaper than a Burial service and is often considered to be a simple no fuss way of saying goodbye to someone you dearly love.
At Perth Cremations, our Funeral Directors will guide you through a simple step-by-step process to ensure you have the service which best describes the life of your loved one.
This service can be as simple as you would like it to be, or there are many ways in which we can include music, flowers, death notices, or a special poem to ensure the final farewell is just as you had planned.
There are many different types of Cremation services ranging from a simple unattended Cremation to a Crematorium or Church/Chapel service.
Simple unattended cremation service: Your loved one is picked up from their place of death and taken into the care of our funeral home. The body is then washed and dressed and later taken to the Crematorium. The ashes of the deceased are then delivered back to the family within 7 days of the cremation taking place.
If the family chooses, a small gathering of up to 20 people may attend a viewing and spend 1 hour saying goodbye to their loved ones in the comfort of our funeral home. Refreshment facilities are always available in a casual relaxed atmosphere.
A funeral service may be conducted in our funeral home with seating for up to 50 people. For gatherings larger than this we insist on the service being held at the Cemetery Crematorium, as their facilities cater for larger numbers of people.
Hearse, Flowers, Funeral Notices, Music, Celebrants, Priests, Ministers, Limousine transport can all be arranged at the family’s request.
As always, if the family does have any special requests, we are always more than happy to assist wherever possible.
At Enviro Funerals we guarantee your Funeral or that of your loved one will be Carbon Neutral. If you choose to use our service we purchase carbon credits on your behalf to ensure every funeral leaves no carbon footprint.
We are accredited with the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS)
In order to keep our accreditation we must do the following;
- Calculate and reduce our footprint to comply with carbon neutral protocols
- Set up a reporting system to monitor our carbon footprint on a yearly basis
- Provide a public disclosure statement to provide transparency for our suppliers and customers.
- We purchase offsets to ‘balance out’ our carbon footprint which delivers lasting benefits to communities and the environment.
Worldwide in excess of 50,000,000 people pass away each year. Traditional burial and cremation practices can have significant negative environmental impact, however, one way to lessen the impact is to have a green funeral.
If yourself or your dearly departed loved one were constantly conscious and aware of the impact of humans on this beautiful place we all live and share, then a green funeral is the perfect way to say goodbye.
Having a green funeral is becoming increasingly important for the many people who live their lives in a more conservative manner. Today, people not only want to live greener lives, they now also want to be environmentally sensitive when they leave this world too.
At Enviro funerals we support your environmental views and we will show you how you can leave a neutral carbon footprint behind and help reduce the impact of the funeral on the environment.
We also have a large range of environmentally friendly coffins on hand. These coffins are ethically sourced and are made from completely natural materials. We offer a range of hand-woven eco-coffins which offer a beautiful, distinctive and unique alternative at a very affordable price.
A green funeral produces fewer carbon emissions by using:
- Ethically sourced hand-woven Eco-coffins.
- Recycled paper– for attendance cards, programs or hymn sheets.
- No Embalming– as it is a substance with a toxic presence.
- Leave a living marker – Natural or living memorials can be wonderful alternatives to quarried stone. Consider planting a tree that will carry on in honour of the deceased.
- No Flowers – Instead ask that a donation be left behind to a charity which supports the way you have lived by helping to create a better world for the living or flowers can be sourced from organic growers.
- By purchasing carbon credits to make your funeral carbon neutral.
Call us today and one our friendly Funeral Directors will assist you in arranging a funeral service which will limit the impact on our environment wherever possible.
WARNING – please read this before purchasing a Funeral plan with any Insurance company, as it could save you tens of thousands
To put it into simple terms a Prepaid funeral with a licensed Funeral Director is a funeral purchased in advance……..you pay today’s prices with no price increase ever.
The type and style of funeral the client wants is documented in a written contract and paid for at today’s prices. Subject to any specific terms of a Pre-Paid Funeral contract (eg: if Government taxes are subsequently imposed or increased), the client will not have to pay any additional amount for the contracted funeral regardless of when the funeral is required. Payment of a Pre-Paid Funeral is invested with an independently managed funeral fund and is only released to the Funeral Director once the contracted funeral service is completed.
This allows you peace of mind in the fact that not only are your wishes respected in the way you would like your funeral to be arranged, but there are also no hidden costs for your loved ones.
Once a Prepaid funeral has been arranged all the hard work is done, then the information is forwarded onto a family member and when the time comes all they have to do is make a call to us.

This is what you should know before you go out and purchase an Insurance Funeral plan offering to pay your funeral for the cost of a cup of coffee per day!
According to the study conducted by Rice Warner in September 2010, you could end up paying $85,099 in premiums for a $6000 funeral if you took out the policy at age 60 and did not die until you were 90.
And if, by chance, you were to miss out on making a payment at any stage, then all your previous premiums paid would be forfeited. In addition, if you were to die in the first 12 months, then the insurance would not pay out unless your death was accidental.
The initial premiums for funeral insurance may seem small at the start – as the mantra goes ‘less than the price of a cup of coffee a day’ – but they increase over time. However, some insurers provide cover for free beyond the age of 90 and others cut out the need to pay premiums even sooner.
The study showed that a 75 year old male would start to pay more than the funeral is worth after 6-7 years. For a 60 year old female, it would take 14-15 years, to reach this point but as the premiums grew, the actual cost would accelerate sharply.
Please note parts of this material originated from a study conducted by Rice Warner in 2010 and these results were not intended to prejudice any one insurance company as policies may be different on an individual basis.
